Crocheted Backpack with Leather Accessories

What do we need for the crocheted backpack?

A leather base
A leather backpack strap
A front piece for the bag
A leather drawstring
3mm or 5mm cord for crocheting (approx. 100-200 m, depending on the height of the bag)
A needle with a larger eye
A size 6 or 8 crochet hook.

The procedure itself

1. We start crocheting the body of the backpack, so take the leather bottom piece and hold it so that you can see the underside. Start crocheting in the middle of the side, you can start anywhere, the middle is just a recommendation :). Pull the cord through with the hook and finish a single crochet.

2. Crochet all the way around the base, and don't forget to put 3 single crochets in each corner. On any side, we chose the one where we started – before the end, insert the metal rings as close to the corners as possible, near both corners, and secure them with two single crochets.

3. You have the entire base crocheted around

4. Finish the individual rows – using the invisible method.

5. Now crochet upward – to the height you want to achieve, we used two TINY balls of cord

6. Prepare the last row so that you can attach the leather "Front" piece, crocheting it on so that it fits exactly into the middle of the side.

7. In the middle of the crocheted side – of the component – attach the third ring, which you again secure with 2 single crochets

8. Once you have the main part, fold over the leather front so that you can position the fastening on the front side

9. Secure it with a few stitches using a thick needle

10. Before you sewed on the fastening, but you can also do it afterward, prepare the backpack for any number of sections through which you want to thread the drawstring

11. Thread the drawstring through at your chosen spots

12. When you have everything ready, attach the straps to the top ring and also to the bottom ones

13. Done
