Wooden basket bases – round

The round wooden base is a plywood foundation (stand) for crocheting round baskets and trays. Made in Slovakia from birch plywood, with 10 mm diameter holes around the perimeter for crocheting.

Available in diameters 10 cm, 12 cm, 15 cm, 17 cm, 20 cm and 22 cm, including decorative walnut and oak finishes (20 cm diameter). Newer variants with 4 mm thickness (17 cm, 20 cm diameter) and 5 mm (15 cm diameter) have machine-cut holes rather than burned ones – this method may occasionally leave faint marks around the holes, which do not affect the quality or look of the product.

• Material: birch plywood, 3 mm thick (4 or 5 mm on newer variants)
• Hole diameter: 10 mm
• Recommended cord thickness: 5 mm
• Recommended hook: size 6 or 8

You can paint, varnish or otherwise finish the base before use. As it is a natural material with natural wood grain patterns – this is not a defect. Handle the base carefully as the holes are fragile. For the first rows we recommend hook size 6, later a larger size, and remember to increase around the perimeter so the basket holds its shape.
